The Asterousia Mountains constitute the southernmost mountain range of Crete, Greece and all of Europe.<\/p>\n

They are parallel to the southern coast of the Regional Unit of Heraklion and are the natural border between Messara and the southern Sea of Crete.<\/p>

Their boundaries are clear and specific: The east is delimited by the Anapodaris river, the south by the Libyan Sea, and the west by the gulf of Messara.<\/p>

In contrast, the northern borders of Asterousia are vaguer as their slopes move forward, slowly disappearing into the great plain.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
